ERM High-Voltage Asset Specialists recently completed a Scope of Work (SoW) for a large gold miner in Western Australia, where our team was contracted to rectify a winder motor air gap. We are proud to say that we exceeded the client’s expectations in delivering an exceptional solution.
The SoW included conducting electrical diagnostic tests, checking the hold-down bolt, and measuring the air gap. We rectified the air gap via adjustments, checked the rotor condition and conducted Polarization Index (PI) and Winding Resistance Tests on stator and rotor windings. We also tested the rotor circuit/coils, inspected general insulation and connection condition, and conducted visual wedge inspections.
In addition, we inspected the general motor condition, including the sealing arrangements, and conducted detailed visual inspections of motor windings and associated components. Our team provided a comprehensive inspection report on all findings.
